Description finally, my first 3d submission

as you can see, i changed the colour scheme a bit.

sadly, i had no time to put her in the proper pose. i'm glad i was at least able to finish the high pol.

i wasn't going for realism, i wanted to make her look like my pictures instead. i think i succeeded, more or less.

OMG.. I've just started to learn 3Ds Max 2009 in my college and learned the basics.
But I can't imagine how to make this O___O; I've just learned how to make simple objects (the most complicated one I've ever made is a gameboy advance) and I kept making a mess with the lighting and materials.

how did you add those little shells?Did you make them one by one?
and I can only imagine how complicated the splines are

only the base mesh was done in 3ds max, all the detail work was done in zbrush. back when i was beginning to leard 3d we also only made simple stuff and i couldn't imagine making anything more complicated. currently, i'm so out of practice i'd probably have to relearn everything ;__;

Oh don't worry, I'm sure you can remember them immediately XD learning an application software is like riding a bicycle so once you can do it, you can't forget it easily

I really admire all of your works, especially your OC characters. they got solid forms, awesome designs, and very realistic!

very very nice, I myself work with 3d Max and Zbrush as well but I'm kinda new, could you perhaps give a few tips or tricks or some sort of mini tutorial of how you start modeling the base and such? would be very apreciated! <3

actually, we'll be learning maya next year. i've heard working on uv is much easier~

i attend Sogang University Game Education Center, Game Graphics and Animation dept, in south korea^^

I will tell you now, Maya 2010 has a lot of bugs and problems and a tendency to crash a lot (though it might just be that my school friggin sucks). But if you're working with 2011, you should be fine ^^~
And yes, UVing, though not my forte' is in fact simple and straight forward.

Good luck with your course, your work in splendid ^_^ I look forward to see more!

Hej len-yan, widzę że się rozwijasz w nowe rejony strasznie ładnie Ci wyszedł ten skulpt, jest cholernie "poprawny"; ciekawi mnie jak zrobiłaś te cienkie linki na dole i te wystające rzeczy na plecach: kwestia basemesha z maxa? tak samo te cienkie włoski z głowy.

I jeszcze mnie ciekawi co to za szkoła do której uczęszczasz
PS: znacznie lepiej by wyglądała ta praca, jakbyś ją wyeksportowała do maxa i wyrenderowała w Vrayu. Ten renderer zbrushowy jest mega prymitywny i kolory strasznie sztucznie wyglądają

juz sie tlumacze xD

'linki' na dole i pojedyncze pasma wlosow(te odstajace od helmu xD) to faktycznie maxowy basemesh ale wszystkie szczegoly na plecach, ramionach i czole to juz z-brush (zabraklo czasu...). ogolnie mialam eksportowac do maxa ale moj komp nie poradzil sobie z laczeniem obiektow lol.. poza tym trzeba by topologie, mapy, inne bajery a bylam juz mniej niz tydzien przed wyjazdem i z przeprowadzka na glowie v__v ogolnie licze na to ze znajde troche czasu zeby zrobic jakas postac od nowa, porzadnie, i zaeksportowac do unreala *___* no, moze kieys, jak juz bedzie mnie stac na nowy komputer;;

co do szkoly, jest to Sogang University Game Education Center, wydzial grafiki i animacji. mamy zajecia z 2D, 3D, inne doksztalcajace, projekty grupowe... takie tam. czteroletni kurs zakonczony nadaniem licencjata, przy czym ja wskoczylam od razu na rok drugi. jestem ich pierwsza nie-koreanka, jest smiesznie xD

nie jestem pewna co jeszcze dodac, ale jakbys chciala wiedziec cos jeszcze to sie nie krepuj^^
