When artists decide to start their creative career, usually they start by identifying their unique style. In my personal opinion, this is one of the most difficult things for an artist to do.

Generally speaking, creative people love many diverse styles, and making it really hard to choose just one. Or rather, we have been creating and drawing since we were little and we have never stopped and contemplated our style before, so now it’s hard to find a name for what we do. ( You don’t know what you don’t know)

I think in order to find our own unique voice and style that defines us and makes us recognizable it is crucial to pass through the phase of experimentation with intention. Which is basically trying everything and discarding those styles that discourage us to keep going.

This is not something new, the great masters like Picasso and Dalí did this experimentation in their own beginnings in order to test their limits. Being able to know what our strengths and weaknesses are, make us better artists in the end.

How would you define your unique style? Or are you still experimenting with intention?

Al hacer la decisión de hacer una carrera creativa, usualmente artistas empiezan por definir su estilo único.

Esto, personalmente creo que es una de las cosas más difíciles para cualquier creativo, ya que generalmente nos gustan demasiados estilos y es difícil de escoger solo uno, o es algo que hemos hecho desde pequeños que nunca lo habíamos contemplado antes, y ahora nos cuesta encontrarle un nombre a lo que hacemos. ( como dicen, uno no sabe lo que no sabe…)

Creo que para poder encontrar nuestro propio estilo que nos defina y con la que gente nos pueda reconocer, es necesario pasar por la fase de experimentación con intención, que consiste en intentar todo e ir descartando lo que nos desmotiva.

Esto no es algo nuevo, los grandes maestros como Salvador Dalí y Pablo Picasso pasaron sus inicios experimentando, viendo cuáles eran sus límites. Al final saber que se nos da naturalmente y que se nos complica nos hace mejores artistas.

Ustedes cómo definirían su estilo artístico? O todavía están experimentando con intención?
