It's been quite some time since my last artwork, hasn't it?
Pheeewww...this took SO long! I started this drawing back in November, and I was slowed down by three things: University work, a search for perfectionism and the dear, beloved, always present procrastination! XD But can I just say I am super proud of the result? I'm really, really happy about how this turned out! As I am happy I can finally show you something new ^^ As always, all feedback is appreciated and encouraged.Here we have EnderGurl22 's OC Hyde confronting some mysterious enemy: I don't know who they are, but judging from the look on her face and the spell she's charging, I wouldn't want to be them
I was inspired by the beautiful song "Beast" by Timeflies, I can totally see Hyde singing it to Ender. Hence, the title and the writing.

Also, I don't know what got into me, but while I was drawing this I started making alternate versions that are supposed to be funny, and ended up getting quite a lot of those done XD You can find them here below, in the link: I hope they can make you smile.

Now, after almost a full year (Incredible how much Timeflies ((okay no, bad pun, I'm sorry XD)) when one is with friends) let me finally apologize.
I'm so sorry that I haven't told you how amazing this was sooner. I remember watching you work on this during streams and how you were really proud of how it was coming out. You had fun making all of the alternate versions and I had fun watching you have fun. Then when you completed it, It took me 9 months to finally come back to this and respond XD But trust me, I never forgot about this and I could never thank you enough for all the hard work you poured into this. I know how long you spent on the sketch, the flat colors, the shading and so much more. It takes a true artist to do something like that and have fun (While struggling) accomplishing that.
So let me take the time to tell you, thank you, Lenny. Truly. This gift... I cannot put enough words into it before I become repetitive. But I'll try to say as much good as I can about it >w< First of all, Hyde looks truly epic in this shot XD It takes incredible skill to make Hyde look like a badass and elegant as well, and you managed to accomplish both. Very, VERY successfully, might I add! ^^
Her mane and tail are shaded beautifully! ^^ I love how the red isn't that bright, blinding pure red I give her! (I NEED to admit... I HIGHLY regret the color choices I gave both Ender and Hyde. The purple and red are too bright and pure black doesn't work well in my opinion ) So I'm so happy you made her colors look presentable without making anyone's eyes sore with my poor color choices 
And the shading on her fur is also a delight and REALLY well executed! The shadows are on all the right places, and the highlights are also perfect! ^^ The shadow under her wings are mesmerizing If I recall correctly, you had a troubled time figuring out how to shade it, but let me say that you pulled it off! 11/10 >w< Her shoes and chestplate also are stunning ^^ A bit basic back when I first designed in, but JEEBA LEEBA, you still somehow make it look epic
AND THAT MAGIC! THAT HORN! You do not understand how much trouble I face when I try to make magic. And you make it look so easy.... and AWESOME!
What is not amazing about this? I mean, I have this as my desktop backdrop

Celly, my friend, there's absolutely no need to say sorry! ^^ I remember back in December you had already thanked me, in DMs, and you told me what you thought of this drawing. I also remeber you saying "I'll tell you now and in DMs, because who knows when I'll finally comment on that drawing." 
And now you even came back to this drawing to give me detailed feedback and such kind words! QuQ I really appreciate it!
I'm so glad you like it! Whenever I draw other people's characters, my main goals are: having fun while drawing them (otherwise what's the point?
I don't think Ender and Hyde have a bad color choice. Purple and red is a bit daring, yeah, and maybe they wouldn't work very well with just those, but you have that black that manages to tie them together really well: I like it 
Yep, the shadow on the wings was one of the hardest parts! Strangely enough, after a few studies on how light works on bat wings, it turned out to be one of, in my opinion, the best parts of the whole drawing! Funny how art goes sometimes 
I have no idea how I managed to make that magic! If you asked me to do it again, I don't think I'd know where to start XD I just sort of kept experimenting and, thankfully, everything went well and it came out really nice!

oh my gaaawd! dude, this is what a real progress looks like! damn, the shading is so soft and you even managed to highlight the drawing! also kudos for the placing of highlights - they are very anatomically accurate from what I can tell. and the pose - damn, her pose!! so dangerous and confident, I bet 100 dollars that our favorite baticorn has won the battle xD
those tiny details like her teeth, necklace and cuts on her back leg are amazing as well, I see a lot of effort put in those. does Hyde have black blood though? I never knew!
the red on her mane looks very realistic by the way, like those are some actual hairs. black looks great too, but there is a bit too much of white highlight, it'd look better if you took a color close to black but lighter, used it for the main color and shaded it with regular black, that's how I and many others do arts as well (even Bert's uniform is never actually black for example, just a thought xD)
and heck that fireball! I bet Hyde will kick anyone's butt with that.
and heeeeck that newspaper in the alternate versions literally made the rest of my day xD

First of all, because it means you took a closer look at the drawing, and I thank you so much for this! ^^ And also because I paid special attention to them: just know that even something as small as the necklace had three layers. Lineart, coloring and shading XD
Thanks for the feedback on the black part of her mane, it will help me do even better next time
I think I should have used a lighter black for her mane, and a darker one for the details. Instead, I used the darkest possible for the base color, and this forced me to use a ligther one to shade XP
And yes, Hyde has black blood! I had already drawn the wound red, but then I wasn't sure, so I asked Celly about it: thank goodness I did, or I would have gotten it wrong

oh, I know how much time and effort it may take when just doing a small detail. I've been there so many times xD
Actually, I always say you should never use the "darkest" black, even when shading. It's much better to mix, for example, grey and dark blue, and you get a black that certainly looks like black but you still can shade it, hope this makes sense. At least that's what I always do.
Black blood! That's so neat! I mean, I can't come up with a character that has unnatural color of blood, gum or inner organs - I feel uncomfortable. But I always appreciate it when people do something like this with their characters. Celly is very creative about her ocs!

Ooh! Very good job! You captured the pose very well. She looks defensive and it looks like whatever she's fighting must be pretty powerful! (And pretty big!) The glow on her horn looks AMAZING!! Special effects like that are tricky! The half-folded wings are a nice touch too. It could make it look like she's getting ready to take off into flight as she attacks (or if her attack doesn't work as well as she wants it to!) The anatomy all looks pretty good too! Great job on this!
