I know it's been about 3 years, but I still miss her sooooo much. And now my kitty Max, aged 17 with diabetes is right now spending the night at the hospital as his diabetes is out of control again. I just talked to the vet and she suspects kidney damage. I told her that as special as he is to me, I want him to free of pain and happy. If he's going to suffer, then it's time to say goodbye. I'm tearing up here just thinking about it, but it's the right thing to do. Damm, why did I have to fall in love with cats..........I should have fallen in love with the parrots etc. that can live very long lives. But, really, I wouldn't miss any of the time I've had with my kitties.

Maddie was a beautiful cat. I lost my cat, Mo, last year. He was also 15 yrs old and also so precious to our family. You simply will always miss them.

She didn't seem to suffer at all which was good. I've only had 3 cats in my life and the deaths of the first 2 just broke my heart. But I can't live without them!!! Max is 17 now and has diabetes, so I'm trying to prepare myself, but you never really can. I'm just enjoying him as much as I can, and spoiling him rotten. LOL

Oh I know what you're talking about I had two cats and one of them died quite suddenly, and after that the other one just wasn't the same (and they didn't even really like each other, strangely enough) he just sat under a tree and stared, and eventually he became really thin and I took him to the vet, after lots of examinations it turned out he was really very ill : his heart, his liver and his kidneys weren't very good, I had him put to sleep not even three months after the first one died, it was very sad, and even though it's been nine years now, I still have sad dreams about it from time to time... I've not had any cats since, because in the same year my cats died, we had a stray kitten coming into our garden, and she has been our 'garden-cat' ever since, she lives outside, but comes here for food.
I feel so sorry also for Max, poor thing, good to know he gets spoiled

Thanks so much. But when I think of her now, and I do so every day, I can smile. She brought me a lot of joy and I gave her a good life. She was always so happy.
