i saw one really close.
And there's this little piece of land
where they flap their wings to eachother.

I also saw one catch a little fish.

they are.
They stay when it snows, is that normal?

Yes, they stay here during winter also. As long as they find fish.

But there's a 20cm thick layer of snow and i think the water's frosen.

Then they go to more bigger and open water. Like a river.
