Weird that the dark energy keeps being called dark energy if in that fictional reality it has been discoverered, harnessed and used for all purposes, from toothbrushes to hyperspace travel. It should probably be called with it's discoverer's name, and probably separated in many parts. It's like ancient greeks imagining modern chemistry and the matter was still thought to be composed of the four elements.

Hmm... You make a valid point. It is odd that the energy was never given a name to reference it by. I could almost understand if it were only in the video games where there might be some confusion due to the common language translations made across multiple speciesΒ since each species would have their own discoverer to give credit to, but even in the books where the narrative is told mostly from one person's point of view, there is never more than a gloss over given with the title 'dark energy' used. They could have even created a common word for use across all languages by just naming it after the Protheans that everyone had thought discovered it in the first place. That was a missed opportunity, if you ask me.
