You make an excellent point. The quote "The pen is mightier than the sword" exaggerates the power of words and trivializes the consequences of violence.
And even if the pen was mightier than the sword, would it be mightier than the crossbow? The rifle? The handgun? The grenade? The bazooka? The rocket launcher? The attack helicopter? The fighter jet? The surface-to-air missile? The atomic bomb?
