Description As I lay silently in the grass, my arms and legs spread out like a star, I found it hard to focus on anything but the heat throbbing beneath my skin.

I slowly opened my eyes, squinting, to protect them from the glaring sun. They were greeted by a sky of purest blue, like a cavernous pool of water, more inviting than any here on earth. I wanted to reach up and drag my fingers along the surface, leaving ripples as I went. I wanted to break the seal and feel the water come crashing down on me, purging the world of all that came before it.

I let my head fall to one side, to look along the line of my outstretched arm, and beyond it to the never-ending field of lush green grass.  I had been absent-mindedly running my fingers through the cool waxy blades beneath them, enjoying the different textures of life.

A soft cool breeze caressed my skin. I relished the sensation, knowing it would be a rare one today. The gentle wind lifted my fringe, dancing it softly across my forehead, before leaving as swiftly as it had arrived.

The world around me was so peaceful, so calming and pure; everything silent beneath the bluest of skies.
