I love this anime.thats all I can really say.
everyone hates it because it's apparently "UGLY".
It's not. I think its beautiful and unique, the plot is wonderful too.
I was instantly drawn to yaichi (ichi-chan - voiced by Takahiro Sakurai) and he is my fave (along with Masa~)
In this piece I tried a totally new style, inspired by xxxholic and Saraigoyou
Please give it a go at watching it if you arn't afraid of somthing 'different'

I can see were you got the Holic part, when I first saw the pic I was like "huh, the smoke reminds me of XXXHolic, when yuukos always smoking" I myself, prefer Masa over Yaichi becuase of his adorable clumbsiness and nievity ^.^ I was discoruaged at first by the drawing style of the manga when I first picked it up but, I kept reading it and now I love it to death~!

most of it i tried to use CLAMPS amazing inking techniques with a copic marker and calligraphy pen, so im glad people notice it
ohhhh i see, I like them both and personally I cant pick one
but for masa its very hard to portray his personality in a drawing so i tend to steer away from drawing masa XD

I also like how the only thing that's colored is Yaichi's eyes, it adds emphasis to them ^.^ I think almost everyone in Saraiya Goyou has black eyes except for Yaichi, wich I always thought was strange

but i have this policy where i watch the first episode of the anime
and if its good il keep going and if its not i wont watch it.

i love the juxtapostion they place in the difference of personality and angles. and how yaichi is so unstable >w<

yes! those inconsistent thick and thin lines are beautiful!i really love their work! shaft did a great job with wonderful quality!

It kinda reminds me of the ancient Japanese art style... for some reason, lol.
And the maple leaves that they show a lot in the first episode... They look like they're cut from paper or something! (In a good way lolz) The art is really different- the mouths are wider and lower- but people should just keep watching and they'll get used to it. (I got used to it after about 5 minutes.
