I did expect Rio to be next after London. America, Japan and Spain have already hosted the Olympics before. South America never got a chance before, so it's obvious that Rio gets it.
The Olympics really bring a lot of cultures together, and I am glad that the IOC chose Rio for 2016. Choosing a country that never hosted the games before, is like bringing the world closer together.

indeed, tho i thought that Madrid was going to be the first eliminated, then Tokyo and maybe Chicago would be chosen instead of Rio.
but i heard i reporter saying that people from Chicago didn't want to host the Olympics (idk why).
and Tokyo was more like 'it's ok if we win, but if we don't, nevermind'.
so it was all about Madrid and Rio.
