Ver 1.1: Some minor adjustments made to the picture courtesy of my artistic girlfriend fullmetaliris.Behold: the greatest work of art in the history of mankind... okay, the greatest work of art on my page at least. This is a fan art picture of Noble Team from Bungie's 2010 hit title Halo Reach. From left to right we have: Emile, Jun, Jorge, Kat and Carter. All constructive comments and criticisms are welcome.
All Halo Reach characters belong to Bungie.

Awesome name then. I'm a fan of Squall. Not a fan of Rinoa. I like Selfie and Quistis a lot more. And Tifa and Aerith. And Terra and Celeste... basically Rinoa comes dead last in my books.

I bet it would change your view of her if I told you that her entire personality, as she presents it in the game, was a front (something she even tried to convince herself of) of lightheartedness/capriciousness and overreaction, because she was always so sad about several things, and felt the weight of the world on her shoulders. I'd have to ask the creator/writer to be absolutely sure, of course, but I'm pretty sure Rinoa was a character with layers.
I believe that if you go back through and analyze her character with this in mind, you'll see a completely different person there. : )
I like the other female characters too, of course, but I loved this conflicted, depressed, layered character who couldn't see a way out, and only found her optimism in the sheer defiance of this young mercenary leader.
Also, when she calls him a "meanie", that's a mistranslation; there isn't a word in English for it, but it translates to "a really awful, horrible person", essentially the kind of person who could live unaffected by the terrible things happening in that situation.
