This is one of my favorite pieces by you, I just love this painting.
The way the complementary colors are balanced in this piece is almost perfect, and the brushstrokes are free and loose but they convey enough detail and information.
I think the only thing this piece needs is more warm colors being reflected on the father, son, and umbrella, to balance out the big warm spot created by the street light's reflection.
I think the son needs some more bluish, cool, shadows. At the moment the father blends in too much with the cool background and the son stands out too much (almost like he is pasted on top of the scene).
As I said, it is a great piece and I admire your skill.

This is actually a simple piece. But the thing is, it's beauty lies exactly in it's simplicity. It's an explosion of colours, as so many other of your works! It's touching, pleasing to the eye, and in this particular piece, it brings a warm feeling as well. I think it's a wonderful depiction of what means to be a father: protection, guidance, love. Amazingly blended colours, beautiful scenery, great technique and a thoughtful vision. It's simply inspiring, like so many of your other works. I absolutely love your art and it always inspires me! Keep up the these wonderful masterpieces!

Ah, dear Leonid, you know I always enjoy your work.
This particular painting is touching in a different way from most of your paintings. Many of your paintings evoke a feeling of visceral delight in the beauty of nature or scenery. This one does that. But it also speaks to the emotions on a different level.
You enjoy rain, and the motif works here too. The child seems delighted to be spending time alone with Papa. Papa is carefully, lovingly gripping the child's hand. It reminds me of my own late mother's protectiveness of me in rainy weather.
The most striking aspect of this picture is the variety of colors. The street light gleams on both the brilliant autumn leaves and on the glistening rain on the ground. Every color belongs and has a purpose.
Perhaps my favorite aspect of this painting is the idea that the father and child are walking toward the light that awaits them at the end of this sidewalk. Although the trees are protecting them from the full impact of the rain, the trees are also making the path a bit dark, necessitating the street light. Yet if the two just keeps walking, the sun awaits them.
Once again, beautifully done.
