Description Soooo... Bit of a strange artwork coming from me. A bit out of nowhere as well. Some context are certainly in order here.

This is an artwork of Ash Ketchum from Pokemon and Kari Kamiya from Digimon performing a special Ultra Burst for Necrozma. You see, out on a whim, I decided to check out the Digimon anime, starting from the first season. As of typing this, I am about 3/4th through the first season, though I did heard bits and pieces of the second season through fanarts and fanfics. That being said, I'm only mainly familiar with the first season (particularly with the original 8 Digidestined).

What prompted this idea was the fact that I've seen fanart and even a couple of fanfics concerning a relationship between Ash and Kari, and well, that just won't leave my head. That's kinda what inspired this artwork (that and a remix of Ultra Necrozma's battle theme, which I've been listening to while making it).

Concerning this artwork and the 3 participants. Ash is wearing his Alola clothing since Z-Rings, Z-Crystals, and Necrozma itself all dates to Alola. Kari, meanwhile, is the Digidestined of Light, and Necrozma requires light to achieve its true form. My idea was that with both Ash and Kari working together here, they'd grant Necrozma the light it wants to Ultra Burst immediately into Ultra Necrozma without the need of either Solgaleo or Lunala (kinda similar to a Warp-Digivolution since it skips a step).

Now, even though this is an interesting idea on my part, I did have some trouble with making it. In order of completion, this was my first time drawing Kari, or any Digimon characters for that matter. I had a bit of trouble with her head and making it look right, and I mistakenly gave her the first-gen Digivice on the sketch instead of the second-gen Digivice (the fact that I haven't caught up to season 2 yet kinda bit me in the butt there...). Ash, meanwhile was still a bit tricky in the head department. Luckily, his hair wasn't too much of a problem due to be covered by his arm (that hair gave me trouble the last time I drew Ash). I also had to redo his Z-Ring outside the sketch just like Kari's Digivice. Luckily, the Z-Ring and Digivice shouldn't be too weird-looking due to being covered up by those light.

Then there's Necrozma itself. My idea with it was to have the armor parts be fully tangible while its main body be blurred a bit to symbolize the fact that it's literally made of pure light. Another thing to note is its eyes. I'd like to think that Necrozma's eyes are capable of shining in different colors like a prism. Therefore, I decided to have its right eye use colors from Ash while its left eye uses colors from Kari. Though making Necrozma also had its troubles, especially with sketching it... *sigh* Even outside of Paper Mario artworks, giant artworks are still the bane of me...

Anyway, hope you like it, tell me what you think, don't steal, and I'll leave you with this:

Ash: "Necrozma! Take the light that you've gifted us...!"

Kari: "... And use it to annihilate those that would steal it!"

Ash & Kari: "LIGHT THAT BURNS THE SKY!"

Seriously, 'Light that Burns the Sky' is one of the coolest Z-moves I've ever seen...

Well, I don't know about giving a PokΓ©mon Trainer a Legendary, but I do appreciate the idea. After all, the affinity of light between Kari and Necrozma is ultimately most of the basis of this art piece. Either way, glad you like it.
