I was going to go with only blue and thought I'd finished the series when I noticed this platform bit at the top of Sierra 00 and just had to enlarge it and play with gradient cycling and lo - it was gold! LOL!

well, they use it on Yahoo messenger... its actually been around almost as long as the smiley face.. its : and P and was used as "sticking your tongue out" even before the alpha-numeric symbols got replaced by actual graphic faces

well, I never used the emotes a lot... dA has gotten me using the more common ones, ones I can simply type in with one or two symbols... don't really get all these super animated dancing emotes everyone uses... just takes too much time finding the right things to type, and sometimes, can mess me up if I have too much animated crap on a page... browser will freeze..

I like using IMs though, to chat with friends... especially lately as they can connect to people's cell ph0nes and they can text me from anywhere... easy way to keep in touch and far more comfortable than holding a phone to my ear...

I don't chat with hardly anyone anymore (on the net or in real) except for like occasionally with one friend on SL and we use voice cuz both of us get tired of typing all the time! As it is, my hands are often sore from typing so much just on dA! LD

yes I know that feeling too... for a couple of very close friends, that live far away, I have begun using Skype... that's actually quite nice, like the old idea of a video phone only for real... my best friend in North Carolina and I talk about once a week on Skype, and you can also show the other person your desktop, like if you want them to see the latest render and its too big to email or something, or if someone needs help with a computer error. And, of course, no typing...

I only use Skype with my one SL friend but I have used it since not long after it first came out. I always found it better than Yahoo especially in voice/cam. Years ago, I had a bf in Argentina and it worked far better than Yahoo for us.

oh yeah... I never use voice or cam on Yahoo, just type IMs... and from what I have seen Skype just keeps getting better, each time they update it it works better.
