Description
Just a flag inspired on an alternate history scenario for fun, not a very original one:
Following the Euromaidan riots, leaders of the most radical protesters proclaims a ghost government based in Lviv, gaining projection and area along the next months. Many Western powers, specially EU members, released some positive statements about what international called "Lviv Republic" on early days, but the state kept unrecognized.
The left of the flag is took from Western Ukrainian People's Republic and current Ukraine flag, while the right side is took from anti-Russian Ukrainian People's Republic. The coat of arms is from Western Ukrainian People's Republic (on a shade of blue more similar to EU's), with an inescutcheon of its more important and undisputed stronghold, and capital of republic: Lviv. The mural crown is typically Ukrainian, but gold instead of ordinary silver. The civil flag (in opposition to state flag) doesn't have the coat of arms, in a way that it could be made from re-sewn old Ukrainian flags.

It is Lviv-centered Halichyna - the state should be exist a long years ago. There functions highly Polonized dialects, other than Middle Dneper-based Standard Ukrainian, and Rusyn language. This is culturally completely another country than Kiev and yet more the sphere of Russian language and "Surzhik" (miexed, rather unstable mix of these languages). Also, it has own independent state tradition - before annexation by Poland in Late Middle Ages, it was functioning as Kingdom of Halych-Volodimer under Ryurikovich king Daniel Lev.

Actually the language of Galicians is not polonized. It is just similar to all West Slavic languages: Polish, Czech, Slovak and Sorbian. And the grammar has some differences. Galicia was a part of Austro-Hungary and Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth when East Ukraine was under moskovian's control most of their history. So we also have different customs, traditions, and cultures

The coats of arms are similar, but not the same: Galician lion is armed argent, West Ukrainian People's Republic's is armed or. And the territory of Lviv Republic wouldn't be the same: the struggles to surpass the own Lviv Oblast would take many months.

Hey, I don't like the "take advantage of the situation" part.
No, maybe it's exactly what I'm doing. Maybe it's only me reading the journal and fixing the fact that I don't post a deviation for a long time...
