Getting up in the morning was always a bit of a challenge, especially given Leo's tendency to stay up later than he really should, but it's been especially hard since coming back to school. Maybe it was from the week of leave before Heather gave birth and the few days after, or maybe his mind was screwing with him...

Whatever the case, today marked the second day in a row that he'd nearly fallen asleep on the bus to school, managing to stay awake from the jolt of the vehicle pulling to a stop. With an exasperated sigh, he got out of his seat and made his way to the exit.

It was still quite dark out, mostly due to the current season and how early it was, so everyone coming in and out got a good look at the stars above. It was a nice view, and a good distraction for some before they had to endure the day of work ahead.

A firmness on his shoulder snapped Leo out of his tired daze, and walking right behind him was Millie, who bore a concerned look on your face. "Hey, Lee," she said in a gentle tone, giving the shoulder a gentle squeeze.

A smile curled at Leo's muzzle, and he gave his friend a nod. "Hey.." he replied, his voice a tad weary from his exhaustion.

"So...I take it leave treated you well?" Millie said, letting go of his collarbone. "How's Heather?"

"Oh, she's alright...she's still got a few days left at home. Poor girl needs the rest.." Leo let out a yawn as he spoke, rubbing his eyes.

"Are you getting enough rest? Your hair's a little scraggly looking...and I notice you haven't shaved in a while."

"Hm?" He felt for his chin, his fingers grazing against some light stubble. "Oh yeah...guess I forgot about that," he muttered with a chuckle.

"Heh..." She gave his back a gentle pat. "Hope you can stay awake for what's happening today."

"Today?" he asked, turning back to her as they entered the building, blinking as his eyes adjusted to the light.

"Don't tell me you forgot, dumbass," Millie said with a tease in her tone, giving him a gentle elbow to the side.

"Gimme a sec...uhh...oh! Right, field trip!"

"There we go."

"Yeah, I'll be alright. Nothing some coffee can't fix. If I fall asleep, you have full permission to drop a book on my face."

"I might drop it on your groin instead, just to make sure."

"Ha! You do that and your hoodie goes in the trash."

"Yeah yeah...let's just get to home room, okay?"

He gave her a nod, and the two went off down the hall, bags over their shoulders and the upcoming trip on their minds. Today was gonna be an interesting day...

Finally got around to Part 2! Sorry it took so long to get out. College is a royal pain rn, and I've been studying for my math final these past few days, but I managed to squeeze in enough time to get this out.

Hope you guys enjoy Millie's new look! I know I didn't really give it a proper reveal (That goes the same for a lot of my characters), but I'd say this is a good way to show you guys now.
