Technically, Year of the Dog ends on Saturday so I still have time. Barely any, but still.
I went with Chinese dog breeds for this one: A Pekingese (black one), a Chinese Crested (white-hair) and a Shar Pei (Mr. Wrinkles).
I'm mad tired and I have other pieces to start and finish before bed tonight (Pig and Commissions), so my description will be very brief. Later, when I'm refreshed (I hope), I'll write something a lot more detailed. In the mean time, here's the earliest scan of the sketch for this.
Materials: Drawing pencils, Sakura Pigma Micron pens, Prismacolor coloured pencils.

I have to say your style is very sleek; I like how the colors and the dogs came together, this is very realistic and yet it has some cartoon-ish tendencies. That, in my opinion is REAL art ^^

It should please you that I want to do something more with the monkeys in the future. I'm in the process of finding names for them, but it's rather tricky. I want the names to match their personalities.

and as a side note just so ya know the chinese crested actually has its breed history in africa. Its called a chinese crested because chinese traders brought the dog back from africa, bred it down in size, and the Chinese crested we know today was born lol. Just some breed trivia for ya.

Thanks, Hil! Yes, it's Prismas and yes you need to get them. They cost a mint, but they're worth it.
The pekingese in the picture I used for reference was a sad looking thing...then again, most of the pekingese I saw (especially the ones that looked like long fluffy dusters) had a bit of a sad look. The Crested? Yea...he does look cluelessly happy.
