if you compare it to the official sprites for groudon and kyogre, you can see it's from scratch. i just used the official sprites as reference

you know they did this all from scratch right? that the games only had these specific pokemon as 3D models and they made them into pixel versions?

no worries, i get frustrated at people who don't realize the work that goes into pixel art, especially pokemon sprite art.

thanks so much! the only thing i really disliked about the hate comment was that it was wrong to begin with haha! simply copy and pasting the official sprites next to mine would have been an easy way to check if the hate was warranted or not

yeah thats true lol. but reading the comment again now, i feel like the person either wasnt aware that these are new formes, or they didnt know how tedious it is to make these kinds of sprites. cuz tbh, if you didnt put it side by side with the original sprites, groudon and kyogre look edited, but even if they were, it's not easy to edit it this cleanly

oh i dont actually put the backsprites on deviantArt. i put them on Smogon's sunmoon sprite project. although i haven't worked on the backs for the ultra beasts yet
