Very nice, just happened to find your comic a few days ago via a link on Applegeeks. I read the whole series in one sitting when I found your comic. Your art style is amazing and the story is fun. I now have one more webcomic to add to my list....
And now I found your DA account listed on the comic page and thought I would check out your work, all is great.
I like this work because its a different style than your norm/comic. And it may be just me but the character reminds me of Lynn Minmay from SDF Macross aka Robotech. ESPECIALLY in the face.
Keep up the good work.

It's a great drawing, but incedently, Space Ace is already the name of one of those Don Bluth Animated Arcade games from the 80's, which also had a short lived cartoon series based on it.

A lovely piece, and one of the more difficult "Cheesecake" poses to pull off, but you do so admirably well.
I suddenly get a sensation of Velma in space for some reason though.

The pose is diffcult, isnΒ΄t it?
But I like the colours more^___^~
Too bad, that it hasnΒ΄t a background.

yeah, no I think it's better that there isn't a background.

just so ya know, Space Ace is the name of a Sega CD game. It's pretty fun, but it's near impossible to finish, even if it is only about 20 minutes long... one of those interactive movie things.

ah, k, just thought ya didn't know, it's one of those slightly obscure games that not a lot of people I know actually seem to have heard about.
>_>... I still can't beat it.

Wait, you're not saying that you drew AND colored that in one two hours. Because that would make you come kind of supernatural freak... OR a witch!
A WITCH! BURN HER! BURN HER!

Lepas In reply to Bug-Off [2006-01-28 18:21:54 +0000 UTC]
it took like five minutes to ink, a couple minutes to draw, and then like an hour and a half to color. It's just the airbrush tool. It's way easy to color things like that.

Maybe you should think about doing a manga, cause I'd read it. I also have to say that picture would make a great cover....
Plus, i'm sorry... most people would buy it just for that girl's chest. ^.^ She's got a nice set of perky pillows there.

you think i don't realize sex sells? lol.
and I don't mind there being sexyness, as in Zap!, for example, because it's just sorta a bonus that a lot of fans enjoy. The comic's not all about being sexy, or whatever, but you still have some of those characters to balance things out.

MaeganBlue In reply to Lepas [2006-01-29 17:36:58 +0000 UTC]
Oh i know everyone knows sex sells. A helpful reminded doesn't always hurt though cause some people seem to forget that fact.
and yes the sexiness is in Zap!...Like uhm :coughdemonicacough: ^.^ yeah. and the cute guy with the purple hair.
Out of curiosity, why do you only post on mondays and thursdays? Inquiring fans would like to know why they must wait incrediably long days just for another zap installment ^.^ @.@!

Lepas In reply to MaeganBlue [2006-01-30 03:14:36 +0000 UTC]
because a single page of zap takes around twelve hours to do. I simply don't have the time to make more while going full time to college.

ah yes.. college...Been there..done that...skipped classes..slacked off....^.^ I all at once admire you for being able to do that, and feel sorry for you for all the time that crazy institution eats up.
I may go back there myself someday....but not until my brain has unfried itself o.O

Given your usual style with Zap, I find this rather refreshing. Not to say I don't like your style for Zap, far from it. Heck, I liked it so much I went through the entire Zap archive about a month ago when I first found the comic! @_@
Anyway, it is good to see you're not limiting yourself to a single style, trying to work beyond and learn more styles. It makes for more interesting drawings!
In other words... this picture rocks a lot. I do, however, have to agree with another commenter in regards to her stomach seeming a bit wide, but this seems to be more of an effect from the belt, so it's all good. Keep up the excellent work, both inside and outside of Zap!

A manga eh? Well, I think for you it'd be quite fun to read, since I'm already a big fan of Zap! Plus, your interpretation on the manga style is very nice.

I just recently got the oportunity to watch Firefly and REALLY wanted to write a comic that was like Firefly but my art sucks. This image looks like a character I actually had in mind for the comic. Figures Calle would have the idea already. lol. Love the picture Cal Pal.

Lepas In reply to TheDWrek [2006-01-29 04:51:24 +0000 UTC]
There's nothing more to say! I'll prolly never draw her again. lol.
I did name her Esther, though. Because I like the Japanese trend of picking out horrible English names for characters.
And she runs a spaceship repair/towing company and meets all sorts of crazy space people while she's working. hilarity/adventure and possibly romance ensue.
Hello D boy! How'r things?

Storcad In reply to Lepas [2006-01-30 07:27:26 +0000 UTC]
You don't like the name "Esther"? Or are you just saying that your character doesn't look anything like an Esther, and thus is a "horrible English name" to choose for her?
π: 0 β©: 1
Lepas In reply to Storcad [2006-01-30 14:34:02 +0000 UTC]
I don't think Ester is a very feminine name. no offense to any ester's out there. lol.
