Description

L’église romane de Donatyre dans le canton de Vaud a été construite avec des pierres provenant de l’enceinte romaine d’Aventicum (Avenches) au 11ème siècle sur les restes d’une première église du 7ème siècle dédiée à Saint-Thècle, d’où le village de Donatyre tire son nom (Domna Thecla) L’église actuelle construite au 11ème siècle fût bâtie sur un plan presque identique à la première cependant la nouvelle église fût dédiée à Saint-Etienne. A l’intérieur on peut voir sur le mur nord les restes d’une fresque gothique tardif représentant « l’Annonciation » et dans le chœur la fresque est une copie de celle de l’église de Moncherand (photos à suivre) réalisée lors de la restauration de l’église au 20ème siècle.

Die romanische Kirche Donatyre im Kanton Waadt wurde im 11. Jahrhundert mit Steinen aus den römischen Mauern von Aventicum (Avenches) auf den Überresten eine Kirche aus dem 7. Jahrhundert erbaut, die hl. Thekla, wo das Dorf Donatyre seinen Namen hat (Domna Thecla). Die heutige Kirche aus dem 11. Jahrhundert wurde nach einem Plan erbaut, der fast identisch mit dem ersten ist. Die neue Kirche wurde jedoch der hl. Stephanus gewidmet. Im Inneren sind an der Nordwand die Überreste eines spätgotischen Freskos zu sehen, das die "Verkündigung" darstellt, und im Chor ist das Fresko eine Kopie die Kirche von Moncherand (Fotos folgen), die während der Zeit angefertigt wurde die Restaurierung der Kirche im 20. Jahrhundert.

The Romanesque church of Donatyre in the canton of Vaud was built with stones from the Roman walls of Aventicum (Avenches) in the 11th century on the remains of an first church from the 7th century dedicated to St. Thecla from which the village of Donatyre takes its name (Domna Thecla) The current church built in the 11th century was built on a plan almost identical to the first, however the new church was dedicated to St. Stephen. Inside you can see on the north wall the remains of a late Gothic fresco representing the "Annunciation" and in the choir the fresco is a copy of that of the church of Moncherand (photos to follow) made during the restoration of the church in the 20th century.
