In the game, he is marked as Protectobot, so naturally, I thought of nameing him Streetwise, who was the police car of the Protectobots. But since Downshift's suppose to be a security officer, I wanted a more police name, so Checkpoint and Downshift came to mind. Thanks to , we came to the conclusion of Downshift. It also works because he's a Dodge Charger, much like a previous Downshift.

In my universe, Downshift is a police/security officer. Downshift is the templet for the Protectobot Scout class drones. He's armed with concussion blasts, two sidearms, two missle-pods and a built in flare system that blinds the enemy's optics. He also transforms into a Dodge Charger police-varient.
