Sorry for the delay in reply but i have been in China on an artist residency. 

I am pleased you connect with A SEnse of Belonging.

For me it explored my feelings on reigion whilst i was stood in the Pantheon in Rome.

I have created forms within the painting to represent different peoples perpective and feelings on religion. I am the figure on the right with my back to it. I used to be a Christian believer but i am not any longer, due to personal reasons from past events. I have represented people who flit and change their beliefs to fit in, people who get drawn into religion by friends, people who just practise alone, those who want to explore from a distance,people who just want to belong to a group and people that follow unconditionally. The whole painting addresses the powerful underlying sense that as humans, we like to feel we belong to something ..
