Could it be? A new character for At Home? Apparently so. I've actually wanted to have a crocodilian character in my cast for some time now, but wasn't entirely sure how to go about it. Part of the inspiration comes from the PS2 game Radiata Stories, which I've been replaying in the recent week (for like the 6th time). They have a species called a crocogator living in the world of Tottaus. I assume it combines the traits of both a crocodile and an alligator. Anyway, the pose comes from a certain infamous enemy reptile of the video game world. I won't tell you who it is so as to tease you (and no, it's not Bowser, ya foos). ; P

Chef Wani is a crocogator that originally came from the world of Tottaus. Far after the tragic events of the game passed, the crocogators living in the Light Elf territory evolved into a new species due to a magical force. Chef Wani began to wander the world until he ended up in the castle town of Radiata. There he met the culinary masters of the Thief and Mage guilds as well as the head chef Astor in Radiata Castle. He learnt the methods of cooking from all of them and realized delicious food could make people happy, bringing them closer together. As a result, he took it upon himself to try and develop his cooking skills to the point where no one could resist a single helping of his food. He spent many long years honing his culinary craft, until at last he left Radiata and journeyed far into the unexplored lands.

Unfortunately for the people of Radiata, he was never heard from nor ever seen again. It is not known at what point he chose to become a dreamer and enter Dreamworld or what physical state he had been in, but he can think of no better place to achieve his dream of making delicious food than the planet where dreams are the source of life for its inhabitants. He came to meet Shounen and Ryuu-kun in town one day and learned that they needed a chef to cook for them. He is now in charge of preparing their meals, hoping his skill is as good as he trained it.

When not concocting new dishes in the kitchen, Chef Wani likes to keep himself in shape with regular exercise. His biggest challenge is to get Talula to try his food, since being a robot, Talula has a difficult time discerning the taste of one type of food from another. An interesting thing to note is what is written on his chef's hat. It reads, "The crocogator is in the kitchen".

I assume your first impression is his odd color scheme. I wanted to be a bit creative with it, as green crocos and gators are very typical and overused. Second, yes, he has a goatee. Third, I left the pencils of the sketch in for artistic reasons. I'm planning on adding an interesting and appropriate background to this eventually, as soon as I figure out how.
