...Sentinel.We drove by the fire station on base this morning and this Rosenbauer Panther fire truck, visiting from another base nearby, was sitting there. I couldn't resist going back home and getting Ironhide.
Ironhide is ready for you now, Sentinel!
This isn't my normal photo Ironhide. I couldn't find my 2007 companion in time, so I grabbed my DOTM Leader Class Ironhide. I suppose that's appropriate

Hahaha yeah Ironhide is awesome. Sentinel would still probably win. (He took on multiple Autobots and almost killed Optimus) but Ironhide still would have put up a good fight. Maybe with his help the Autobots could have taken Sentinel down in the final battle. I know the Autobots could have really used Ironhides help in the end.

I saw an interview with a Rosenbauer employee about the introduction of thier vehicle in the movie. Pretty funny, when they first go the call, they thought they were being punked. And this horrid color you see up here (my sister repairs private aircraft enigines in SCal) is FAA required color. MB hated it and asked if it could be repainted to black/red. Rosenbauer has the Sentinel-vehicle in their lobby.
I totally agree with you, these characters deaths were poorly done. (I can't let my tenderhearted Gigglebot watch DotM. He cried through the cartoon movie at Ratchet & Ironhide's deaths and fled the room.)
This photo on the other hand is awesome, Navy,hm? Nice with the dagger at the ready, heh.

That's awesome! I would love to go see it in their lobby. And I agree with MB...that FAA required color is retina burning (I guess that's the point, so everyone will see it coming

We are Air Force, actually, but the base we live on now is a Joint Base, so there's a Navy presence. This particular truck is from Patuxent River Naval Air Station, which is down the road from DC in Maryland. I'm not sure why it was here that day, but they were nice enough to let me play around it.

rumor has it that when Dark of the Moon came out, fans everywhere demanded Bay lose his license with Hasbro for killing off so many of the actual appealing characters. I agree with them

That's interesting. I haven't heard that rumor. Personally, I'm not opposed to character death, but all the death in DOTM just seemed unnecessary. For me, character death can make a story pretty darn good, but it wasn't all that great in DOTM because most of those characters didn't have to die. Instead of making the story better, it all just kind of fell flat and glazed over, therefore taking away from the story instead of actually adding to it.
Ironhide is the perfect example of a needless death. I get that Sentinel's betrayal was supposed to be a shocker, but I would still have been just as shocked if Ironhide got shot in the back but survived the wound. I mean, really, do we have to repeat repeat repeat every freaking outcome for a character in every Transformers story? I have an idea...Let's let Ironhide survive getting shot in the back for once.
I also didn't like that Optimus simply killed Megatron and Sentinel. That didn't add anything to the story at all...And of course there was Starscream and Soundwave and Barricade probably didn't make it through either...I was surprised by the gratuituous death of characters for no apparent reason other than to just make them dead.

Repeating that wouldn't have been bad. At least there'd be some left alive to fight another day and it would have made the movie fun. I don't know about you, but the movie was kinda stressful.

LOL! That color gets me every time too, especially since it's a real color on some emergency vehicles. Shoot, compared with the real color, they toned Ratchet's color down quite a bit on both his paint jobs!

I couldn't believe it either! It's not a type of fire truck you see every day, that's for sure. I was like, "No way! I have to take a picture of that truck!"
I didn't realize how heavy duty of a truck it is until I got back there with my camera. That is one bad-aft fire truck!
