I think this is one of the best manipulations I have ever made. This is my first public appearance with a painted tail. I think it came out really nice.

This is a collab by letrainfalldown & hpKidnapped. Kidnapped did the stock selection, placement, and most of the body smudging. I did the mane, tail, finished the body smudging, and did all the effects, including the eye.
I also used night-fate's action 4: [link] Β§ion=&q=action+4#/d2pvsev.

Vision – Wow. Another epic achievement! Aptly named, this piece screams freedom. You seemed to know what you wanted before you started, worked towards it, and it just came together beautifully!

Originality
I have seen many a horse running. Not quite this beautifully. And not as a static piece of art that just seems to flow before you, but I have seen many horses running. And while a horse running isn't new or fresh, while the theme of freedom isn't new or fresh, you combined them into an original work that makes you look twice at every detail.

Technique
Disclaimer: I try manips, and I fail at manips, but I love manips. With that said, I love what you have done. If I had not been told it was a manipulation, I would have thought it was a filtered photograph. The filtering is also used very well. Your cuts and lines are beautiful and smooth, and the font you chose doesn't clutter the piece or distract from it.

Impact
The whole piece is a statement of freedom. From the color to the details, I feel drawn in. But again, I have seen many horses running. ^^

It's beautiful !
The lightings is very good and i love the mane and tail. And that eye is stunning!
However, the shadow of the eagle really bugs me... It shouldn't be stretching over two hill's because they are quite far apart as you can tell by looking at the picture, perhaps - if possible- make it smaller and only appear on one hill?

Thanks for the compliments, comments, and suggestion!

I noticed that too.... I should probably fix that. Thanks!

bleh, I'm too lazy to fix it. ><

Can you please explain to me how to do shadows correctly? I keep having input on my shadows that say it looks weird.

I have a tutorial in my gallery somewhere, it's for gimp but I think its near enough the same concept.

And if not, then look around dA.

By the way, you like Merlin, too?
I miss that show. I watched it all last summer. Was it on recently?

xP, It needs to be smaller, im not overall sure about the bird having that much of a clear shadow if I have to be honest. It moves the main focus to much.

Yep, im obsessed with Merlin, and season 3 is back in the UK in 4 days, im literally beaming atm .
