This is entirely different from your usual art, but I have to say that it's refreshing to see you work on such different subject matter with new techniques.

The relation between Joey, the band logo of the Ramones, as well as the vertical text make for a dynamic but visually pleasing composition. I especially enjoy the added detail of scribbles drawn on top of the right-hand text; it adds so much more energy to the piece.

The use of shadow on Joey is well done as it anchors his figure to the rest of the image instead of having him simply float at the center. Where the shadow in my opinion is less effectively employed is under the vertical text on the right. This shadow is significantly more diffused and seems to have a slightly different light-source from the central one. I am curious as to what the piece would look like if a shadow more similar to the central one was used instead.

That said, I feel as though that singular paint splotch is diverting my gaze too strongly to the bottom-right corner. A way to remedy this in a subtle way would be to paint a few more tiny specks along the letters O-N-E to help lift the viewer's eye back up.

Being somewhat of a fan of the Ramones myself, I was very excited to this this piece! I'm sure that the recipient of this artwork will be extremely happy with it.
