That's a strange mixture of cute and creepy right there, but it kinda works. Funny coincidence, I'd been thinking about the idea of a plant-person with a human face but venus-flytrap-like appendages they ate with but I was never sure how they'd be attached (arms, a tail, was never that satisfied and eventually abandoned the design, figured it'd only make people assume I was into vore or something anyway) but this works pretty well. This take on that also reminds me a little bit of Mega-Mawile, though on Mawile the large "mouths" are just a pair of weird horns, whereas these I guess really are functioning mouths, interesting idea.

Thanks! I found that I'm pretty into drawing pigtails in general.. so most of my earlier designs have them involved. I've had short, long, thick, thin, robot..blades..tentacles, i think it's just a fascination with hair in general as a potential design component beyond just something on someone's head.
I had a brief phase of designing monster people and I guess having pigtails with mouths was bound to happen. But yeah! I can see what you're saying with mega-mawile. o uo I think with Raine the idea was that she just got so mutated that her normal functioning mouth wasn't usable anymore but instead she has these other ones. The one in her stomach speaks and the other pigtail ones are more like companions--like dogs. And then the smaller ones peppered throughout her body are mouths that never totally got developed but they're there. The smaller ones can open and close, but just not as much.
I think the idea is worth revisiting though! You never know what you'll make of it.

You're welcome!
Yeah I love "weird hair" appendages too, like XJ9's gadget-pigtails, Twi'lek head-tails, Medusa the Gorgon's snakes, Inhuman-Medusa's weird mentally controlled hair, I saw a mermaid design with tentacle hair a couple of times that looked cool, Shantae's ponytail whip, it's a great concept with a lot of variety and potential.
Funny you should have the belly-mouth as the one that talks, often with those kinds of designs it's that one that only eats, for obvious reasons.
So they each of the "pigtails" kind of have a mind of their own, separate from Raine and her main parasite? It'd be interesting to see how they all interact with other people.
I enjoy seeing how differently host/symbiont relationships can be portrayed too, from full separate personalities like the Tok'Ra in Stargate to more of a single merged mind like the Trill in Star Trek, or a combination of both, or something entirely different form either, there's a lot of possibilities with that concept.
Maybe... I kind of abandoned the project it was for, I wanted to make a sort of silly romance sci-fi called "Star Date" with lots of different alien designs, but I lost confidence in the whole idea.

Sorry for the late reply!
Yeah I've seen a bunch of belly-mouth designs before from other artists and often times they have their character with a functional normal mouth, so it makes sense that their belly mouths would eat more than talk. But I'd like to imagine what kind of voice that would possibly manifest from something like that. Perhaps something deep and foreboding..or something, maybe what her voice would had been like but a bunch of octaves lower and slightly skewed.
Yeah the tails are separate cause I did want to see that kind of dynamic in play. But I totally agree, there's a lot of possibilities here and I think it's probably why I've kept her more alive than most of my other monster-related ocs. There's just a lot of potential in her design and a lot of room for story creation. o uo
I getcha. If you don't mind me asking, what part of it did you lose confidence in? Cause there are projects I have that I want to do but I tend to lose it over different reasons, ultimately putting them in the back burner. "Star Date" sounds like a fun project though! But I know coming from an outsider's perspective that's probably easier said than done.

It's no problem, thank you for replying!
Deep and foreboding sounds about right... though now I keep imagining how unnerving it would be to hear her saying "who's a good girl! (or boy)" to one of her head-tails in a daemonic-sounding double-voice. Maybe you could try recording yourself and messing around with it in Audacity to get a feel for how you'd want her to sound (like doubling up the track, adjusting the pitch, etc).
She's definitely a unique take on the different elements, I look forward to seeing what kind of story you tell with her... though I can imagine there will be some very tragic elements.
I know exactly that feeling, for me I usually get stuck with the plot at some point and can't figure out how to progress a story, then when I go back to it I look at what I already had and decide the whole thing was either just stupid or too close to something that already exists and scrap it anyway. With "Star Date" I was just losing confidence in my creative abilities in general though (I also haven't drawn much for a long time now), I don't think I even got around to deciding the main character's name.
What projects do you have on the back-burner?

Hahaha I probably could try to do that on audacity. I never thought of that. But thank you! And you are definitely right about her backstory. It does need some developing in general but she does have the more darker one than the rest of the monster girls I have currently.
I see, that's pretty similar to me as well. Though I'm really stubborn about letting them go so I just have ideas piled up hoping that I'd just pick them up again and some of them..I really mean to pick up.
I have quite a bit. My main one I don't ever talk about really on here, because it is way back in terms of priority but I have worked on a bit, is a game called "The Fall" (Place holder title so it probably wouldn't be called that in the end.) It's supposed to be a visual novel of the psychological/horror/adventure kind of genre I suppose. I can't really talk too much about it specifically because it's a project that I wanted to unveil when it's more ready. But I had trouble with the story at the time. It's gotten a bit better as of late but I dropped it after finding some glaring holes to the plot and the game mechanics I made up at the time. And it's sort one of my bigger projects that I feel like would define me as a creator so I do worry about the end result and me not being as technically well-versed in drawing/game making to uphold it to a level I would like. So I've been thinking of making some smaller games to help me ease myself into it a bit and develop more of my skills. But then that means me adding another project again.. but I'm sure it'd be relatively simpler. Baby steps. As I always say, sometimes you just make things "for confidence" cause sometimes you need confidence just as much as you would need actual technical ability.
I have other projects though, I generally list them on my profile to keep myself in track but I do have more than what is there. But the ones that are there are the ones that are actively in my head. The rest are too far out of reach/not at all a priority but are still things I want to get to eventually. Most of the ideas that aren't listed there are nowhere near as developed and often times a bit silly. In short though I think I'm a mess haha.

I must check out more of your monsters later, Raine just instantly attracted me when I saw the inktober drawing of her.
Yeah I used to want to hold onto projects I'd spent a long time on but sometimes you just have to let go of bad ideas.
Not saying any of your projects are bad, by the way, I mean your artwork for them looks great for starters.
The Fall sounds like an interesting project, I hope you figure out a way to continue with it.
Well I'll have to take a look at the other projects you've posted here then, sounds like you're a real fountain of ideas.

I know what you mean about bad ideas but its sort of hard to say if it's bad or not until full execution. And I don't have enough experience to distinguish good and bad before it gets made. So I can sound optimistic but it's more like a science experiment than anything. XD Whether it turns out good or bad isn't much of a concern, I just need to know what the result is and go from there. But thanks for the art compliment! I do just hope it works out and that I get better in general.
Too many ideas. It's both a curse and a blessing. But I look forward to any feedback you may have with them. o uo I appreciate it.

That's true, I guess some things you really have to try out and see what sticks.
You're welcome.
I'll definitely take a look when I get the chance.

Thank you~! o uo I think one of my favorite parts of her design over my other monster girls is just that I get to draw feet. I just like the idea of her running around barefoot with her tails swinging around.
