decided to color this sketch of aniki. totally him! one of my favorite characters ever...of all my characters, aniki seems the closest to being my "alter ego". he was born into fiction in 2000 & is loosely based on an online friend i met the year before. he was used heavily in my rpg ANGEL SYNTHESIS & has made appearances in other fictional works of mine, always a little different.

in angel synthesis, aniki was a little boy, like 13, & he discovered my angel character kori & also became best friends with aurae's character sachluph [ forever].

in synthetic angel...

aniki is a member of DIVE, a salvaging agency, so to speak. they act as the buffer between salvagers [divers] & buyers; they catalog the materials a diver brings back & makes the list available to buyers, & also contacts divers directly for buyers with special jobs.

aniki is a 16 year old mechanic, living with his older sister, HOTARU [a cyborg], though he is rarely home. he spends the most time at the sleeper-doll shop NeGEISHA [Ne as in neon] as the apprentice of KENSON AKINO, learning to build & program robots. he is fascinated with botany [especially flowers] & assists akino in the GREEN LAB. he works as a diver for akino under a private contract, giving akino the right to any plants aniki brings back from the outside world.

aniki is currently building a "RORITA", a popular robot toy that is built from a kit & sports tons of accessories for ultimate individuality. all rorita come with the KAWA-E OS, but aniki is writing his own program for the doll to help him with specific tasks. he also works endearingly customizing his HARAKIRI brand GRAVBLADE [something like a motorcycle with a single blade of light instead of wheels]. he has been known to participate in grav races, & is a very good pilot.

though he sees akino the most, they rarely exchange words that aren't directly related to the process at hand. his best friend is an older boy named TETSUA YOSHIDA, a closet cyborg with a very ill young human sister, AYA. aya fancies aniki so he humors her by building her little toys or bring her back shiny objects from the wastes.

his parents died when he was five; he has no memories of them. he has been so careful to take his medicine since he was little or he is more resistant to the corrosive, no one is really sure, but he has suffered only minor symptoms: stage one corrosion "darkening" - bruise-like marks covering his forearms, chest, back, thighs & shins.

he is my main player-character from synthetic angel.
