“The user summons conflagrations of intense temperature, capable of incinerating any and everything in the path. This weather ability nullifies Ice-type moves among other effects. It also generates a fiery-type rain that damages all Pokémon except the Fire type.”
-Note #1: Similarly to harsh sunlight, firestorm increases the power of Fire-type moves by 50% and halves the power of Water-type moves. It also causes damage-dealing Ice-type moves to fail (unless a Pokémon on the field has the Air Lock or Cloud Nine Ability). Additionally, firestorm causes the weather-modifying moves such as Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Sandstorm, Hail etc to fail if used; and causes the Abilities Drought, Drizzle, Sand Stream, Snow Warning etc to fail to activate.
-Note: The firestorm will lift if the Pokémon is removed from the field (and no other Pokémon with Inferno Maelstrom remain on the field), if the Pokémon is rotated out in a Rotation Battle, if the Pokémon has its Ability suppressed or replaced, or if the Desolate Land, Primordial Sea, Delta Stream, Fimbulvetr or Catatumbo Lightning Ability activates.
