It's about time I exploit my ability to give critiques to people, so your work would be a good place to start!
Yes, anthro sea creatures are a little more rare than others, although I have seen quite a few orcas in my time. Your depiction of the dolphins is the kind I've come to expect, accurate as always, and pretty cute. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/>
Their markings have a pretty intricate design (including the colors behind their eyes), and it reminds me a little of your other characters, and even your bikes! In my opinion, the markings might be a little too complex, as dolphins actually have a very simple pattern. If it weren't for their body shape, I wouldn't instantly recognize their species.
The hide and seek theme was something I picked up without even reading the description, which of course is a good thing! The guy in the foreground lying down with his finger to his lips really tells you everything you need to know.
As for the scene itself, that's really lively. I like all the variety you put into the plant life! The red seaweed in the center could use a little more depth but the see-through effect is quite nice. One little pearl (pun intended) of wisdom is that the further away something is, when viewed underwater, the duller its colors become (especially reds), as everything fades to a murky blue.
The last little detail that really made me think was the cross, which is floating upwards rather than being pulled down by gravity. That's something I might not even have thought about if I had done this drawing myself, but you're absolutely right about it!

Yeah I didn't really do good with the hand. I was wanting to keep the same color scheme all over that character but the hands... they just didn't work out. I really appreciate the comment and thank you for the complements as well. the background is based off of the U.S. and British virgin islands coral reefs. The locations feel can never leave my heart.

Oh wow~
That came out great as a photo. I have had to do that with some of my projects too, but man that is pretty big! Again, great work.

I thought that you were hinting at one, IDKY it was just a stupid easement but hey, now you have an traditional option up for grabs and i might have a digital in the future.

Nice concept and scene, very striking in general. The heads and bodies don't look awkward to me, they flow nicely with that skin pattern. The floating wooden cross is a ncie way to show that it's all underwater. My main critique would be that the right arm of the male looks oddly flat, probably because I'd expect shadow from the head to be cast over its white part.

You say you failed at making it not-awkward, but that isn't true. The head doesn't look awkward at all. And you really can't find goo dolphin anthro drawings, so you kinda set the bar high for anyone else.

Are you sure they're not anthro killer whales? That's what I first thought they were. Either way, I like them! A bold choice!

Well, orcas are dolphins. If anything, that fact makes the coloration more interesting.

Its rare to find anthro Dolphins that don't look awkward so I sought to change that and failed epically. "sigh" in the art world their's always a bigger fish
thank you for commenting BTW

the drawing would look even better if I could have scanned it. I drew it on 13x21in piece of cold press so it had to be photographed and the camera I'm using isn't the best.
