Well, so far I believe she got her powers in the first place was affected from experiment ray gun during her visit at the laboratory during the tour. The way how it happened was one of the thieves breaks in and turns the gun to her.

With my elastic super heroine character, Rubber Woman, her backstory takes place in a lab with a teleportation device, where either Β a stretch Armstrong-like toy or putty or rubber bands is flung into the teleporter chamber opposite her by her annoying twin brother and ends up being fused.
Freaked out by this at first, she grows to embrace her new powers and can now fight crime everywhere she goes and put her powers to the rest and enjoys it.
Her brother attempts the same experiment with major success and enjoys using her powers, mostly for fun, but does use his powers for the greater good.
Together, both twins team up to fight crime Together and go under the names Rubber Woman and Rubber Guy and they call themselves the Stretch Twins.
