Cameras distort the dimensionality of a close up subject to an extent based on how the lens captures the image, and flash tends to accentuate those distortions. I forget the mechanical specifics but is has something to do with consumer grades lens summing multiple reflections as opposed to an SLR. So far as daylight goes I've just noticed doing shoots with really pale girls with dark hair is complimented more by natural light.

thank you for the link. Wow...this is going to be hard for me to get back to where I was.....uhg, i want to eat normally again without counting.... people tell me to stop counting but i have to still...to make sure im not eating too much for my metabolism right now.....it never ends.
