As you placed this into the No Mercy folder that means you want a brutally honest Critique from #thephotographyunion .

Interesting feel to this picture. As many of the pictures in your port the muted coloring makes for a very “old time” feel of reminiscence. I’d be curious to see how you are achieving this technique as it could be very effective in some of the pin up work I’m playing with.

I find myself at a loss on how to improve this shot as I’ve no experience in this genre. Overall I just really like it for what it is. Although it’s not totally fair to you I may have to pass on the actual critique and ask someone with more insight to step in and take a look at this one.

You are certainly very creative and talented and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I actually don't own a "real" camera -- just the one in my iPhone -- and so I used some very basic editing software (an app) called "CrossProcess" that makes it look as though different types of film were used. It's kinda embarrassing to admit that, but I use what I've got...

Thank you for your feedback. I may try and ask some people who take photographs of similar things to give me some thoughts since I'm not really sure what I'm doing.

I really like the feel to this shot.
Kinda gives off a retro feel, in colour effects and such.

I just feel like, in this shot, that's all you really have going for it.
The shot is clear.
The colours are nice.

But, it seems somewhat static.
Nothing is happening visually.
You should try shooting this again, but experiment a bit.

As far as photographic rules go, great work!
Just work on concept and/or visual aesthetics.

I've really enjoyed seeing your work!
Thank you for sharin
Happy Shooting

Thank you for the critique. I agree that it's pretty static. At the time I was taking the shot, my idea of what was interesting about it was the small story it entails: this place used to be a spot where things got fixed, and now it itself is in disrepair. It seems like a mini story of the nature of life to me.

But I do understand that I didn't manage to get those feelings across, necessarily. Anyway, thank you again for the feedback. It really helps me to improve.

ah - the story definitely adds to it.
maybe you should try to incorporate the story into the title?

and you are very welcome.
it was my pleasure.

Great style you have and like the polaroid look to it. This is something I would hang on my wall.

Thank you. I love that you think it's wall-worthy! It would be awesome to see a photo of mine on somebody's wall.
