Hey folks! I'm finally back with an actual painting after a while of not posting finished stuff :> I've actually been working on multiple big pieces--I just can't show some of them quite yet >v>"

I got an immensely fun and spontaneous opportunity though to paint my super rad friend Julie It was a concept we started months ago with the idea to turn her into any kind of fantasy character she wanted, and she chose the aesthetic of a pirate! Haha, I admittedly got a little carried away though, and turned what I originally planned to be nothing more than concept art into a full painting, background and all ~

With absolutely zero regrets, there's something so undeniably and wholeheartedly fun about using art to bless someone. It's amidst creating works like this that I forget about all those normal invading thoughts like "my style isn't where I want it to be", "I'm too slow", "I'm not efficient enough", etc. With the recipient at the forefront of my mind throughout every step of the process, all those artist worries tend to fall away. It's truly a sense of creating, just for the joy of creating ... and I can't express enough how beautiful of a thing that is.

So while I may not have been the technical recipient of this piece, I gained a lot in my own way, and am so grateful for how it all unfolded.
