Happy Thanksgiving guys! I've got a whole lot to be grateful for, and one thing up there on the list is all of YOU! Your support and love will forever mean so much, and it's thanks to you wonderful people that I can continue doing what I love ~ Also, you can't spell "Thanksgiving" w/o "giving" so here's a lil something for you all ~ XD A bit more recent look at my digital painting process ~ Be sure to download and zoom in, 'cause you got full res on this one! The general rule for this kind of thing is that you just shouldn't post your piece if you traced or heavily copied the original work.
But by all means, I hope you can learn something from this!

I love to see how artists do their processes; it's imagining how you'd slowly take the time to ensure the colors don't 'bleed' on each other, as much the constant use of CTRL+Z for every small stroke that gets way off, getting that breather once the image gets completed

Also is the first one really your first sketch? Or do you draw a rough outline before adding colour?

The 1st one actually is my initial "sketch"! Sometimes I do a rough lineart, and other times I just go straight into a color layout--depends on how I feel atm, lolol xD

Ummm, I usually take a month or 2 to do an illustration like this, but that's cuz I'm reaalllyy slow and meticulous and don't work consistently/constantly aha

Most of my more long term projects i have never finished. I guess i'm too impatient and just start something new at some point, because i get bored of my own picture But maybe being more patient will help me to improve, so i'm trying my best

Thank you for posting this! It actually helped me a lot. I've wanted to get into more painterly styles but I usually get stuck somewhere between step one and two and I think that it just looks horrible and give up 9 times out of 10.
This was very helpful to see that it's okay that things aren't flawless when you first start out. I saw your art tutorial, and I'll definitely be trying it sometimes to see if it helps out to develop my own painterly style!
