SO I haven't gotten this far in the series with Tree as the Mediator, but I find the concept extremely interesting. I always felt perhaps Medicine Cats should have a bigger say in Clan Matters, especially since their loyalties lie with StarClan. It would be interesting to see the Mediator become close with StarClan to aid in decision making. Also wonder who the next Mediator would be!
