is largely unknown, but there is no shortage of theories. Some say they are immortal deities, some think they are aliens, others speculate genetic cloning and Metagene-experimenting.
the secrets hidden within the Whitevine family tree are very heavily guarded. Not even those to marry into the family seem to have much information to help demystify the strange family.
there is only one constant and widely known truth about the Whitevine family... Anyone born of the bloodline inherits a Whitevine ability however ussually develops uniquely to the personality of the individual. There are 9 Whitevine abilities: Auramancer, sonomancer, chronomancer, Fortemancer, Vigomancer, Gravimancer, Lumomancer, Thermomancer.

Powers/abilities:
Lumomancer- all Whitevine lumomancers share the following abilities regardless of how their powers manifest individually:
bioluminescence- All Whitevine Lumomancers have skin that glows. this is a passive ability to store light in the dermis. it can not be turned off though it can be dimmed.
photosynthetic- the ability to gain nourishment from any or all light sources.
spectrum vision- the ability to see all forms of light.

Sub abilities: because all Whitevines develop their abilities differently each has their own personal abilities within their mancer types. Solstice's are as follows:
photoconversion- able to not only gain nourishment from light but able to convert stored light to increase his other physical abilities and senses.
photonblasts- able to condense light and expel it from any part of his body, much like a laser.
Photoform - shifts his body to become living light giving him the ability to fly and become intangible. while in this form he projects an illusion of his body as it looks before shifting. he doesn't actually have form when he shift into living light.

Weakness/limitations: Darkforce energies seem to effect him negatively, sapping his power and leaving him vulnerable.
cutting off any lumomancer with the exception of one, from light will drain them over time.
in a way one could say that his fame is a weakness. if exploited the right way it could effect him in disastrous ways.
