What a cute kitteh!
The composition is what makes this photo stand out. I also like the faded photo treatment on the cat. I tend to be a high-contrast type of guy, so I find this low contrast approach interesting.
I do like the plants in the background, but they have a sharpness and contrast that are higher than that of the cat. It's distracting at first. After a minute or two, you only see the cat, but I think the photo would have more impact if you can find a way to make the background less distracting. A little touch of blur might do the trick.
