When I was scouting locations for possible landscapes to paint the other day, I came across a yellow-rumped warbler. He was in his finest spring plumage, darting in and out amongst the cottonwood trees. After awhile, he settled on a branch just long enough for me to take some fuzzy reference photos (oh, for a telephoto lens!) and then he was off again, most likely guarding his territory from other male warblers.

This is beautiful. I like how you brought some of the tree in focus but left the rest somewhat hazy in the background. It creates some really effective depth.

I love this! You did a great job with the soft watercolors in the background, and the sharp details on the bird and branch in foreground. I don't really have any critique for this other than maybe make the colors in the background paler or more pastel-shaded, to be less distracting and to emphasize the foreground.
