Description The first page of a two page Future Shocks story for 2000ad - my first ever solo published work at 18. Don (Lawrence) suggested the spider-web layout which spread over both pages. I no longer have the originals, they were lost a long time ago, so these were scanned from photocopies.

BIG QUESTION!!
Do you make a fair chunk off of this stuff? (Chunk= Money)
I have to say, it's pretty awesome!

Playful layouts are probably my favorite thing in comics, besides rusty staples

Very gritty and vaguely claustrophobic. Nice work!
(Commiserations on the loss of the originals.)

Man, check my gallery - I've done Hulk, XMen, Manthing, Superman, Batman, Death Dealer, Dredd, Spidey... a HUGE amount of published work over 20+ years. The unpublished stuff is from when I was learning the trade, or work I just never managed to sell to a publisher. But I've been around the block. I'm an old and seasoned pro!

Take care,

L.

and because of that huge, it's hard for me to browse them all XD

Speaking of which, it's hard enough even to keep with every journal of every person I watch in DA so I might miss a few details regarding to my question; Have you ever been in art school? and what course did you take? digital or fine arts? Because I'm a fine arts student and I am having trouble finding my art movement that suits me and that I should look deeply into that can help me with stuff that I am interested in.

Although I don't know if this is the proper place to ask or if you even have the time to reply to my questions but if you can, that'll be helpful.

No problem .

I didn't go to art school. I was lucky enough to land an art assistant job to Don Lawrence, who was a master in the comics field. Finding your own way is always tough I think, and there are no easy answers - you just have to keep looking and trying things out. It can take a long time!

Good luck!

Best,

Liam.

You've done published comics at 18 and without art classes or art school while I'm still drawing puny arts with puny tablet and still struggling art school?

Wow I should've shot myself when I entered that school hah. ;D

For an old and seasoned pro, you sure are amazing. Hope I can get as much as commitment in arts such as yours.

Thanks again, L.

interesting composition. Why spider web? Too see how the lives of those people are affected by that person in the center?
