Dalek Emperor: Second expansion eraWith the Dalek Empire expanding rapidly, the Emperor required increased processing power, necessitating and increase in the size of its casing. The cooling systems alone required considerable expansion of the upper containment unit.

Lee Sullivan took the original Ron Turner Golden Emperor and redesigned it to evoke Davros' casing from Remembrance of the Daleks. It was rather an effective design, which I have combined with some of the later aspects of the original Golden Emperor to produce this model.

The Daleks belong to the Terry Nation Estate, they were designed by Ray Cusick and this model is mine, based on a design by Lee Sullivan.

Thanks for the comment! Glad you like my interpretation - and I will definitely have to look up that completed strip. That's 'Deadline to Doomsday', isn't it? Always rather hoped someone might have a go at continuing where 'Return of the Elders' left off...

I never much cared for the sphere-headed Emperor concept before, apart from Davros in "Remembrance" (and that's mainly because it was a clever bluff). But your designs are certainly winning me round.

Have you ever considered doing cross-sections of your Daleks? Since a lot of them (Emperor, Time Controller, Special Weapons) have specialised and non-standard anatomy it would be interesting to see. Not that there's ever really been a standard internal plan for a Dalek, of course...

It's definitely on the to-do list but I need to work out the Dalek creature itself first, in order to have something to scale things against. They all already have drive spheres on the underside, so that's a start.
And I probably will end up doing the non-standard ones as well...because, well, *I* want to know how they differ as well!
