Well...yeah...um...for completeness sake? Or something. I'm a bit ambivilant about the whole 'Crucible Dalek' attachment. It *was* only there to allow for easy twiddling of Dalek controls at a crucial moment...Oh, never mind. I'll use it in the background of some scene or other.
Daleks belong to Mr Nation.

I'm getting vibes of Strategy of the Daleks by Bard the Kiwi here in regards to the idea of different dalek castes having jurisdictional disputes.

Well, I sort of decided that it made sense for Strategists to be the ones who would plug themselves into the computers.
I guess the function doesn't need to be limited to Strategists though...

Well, I liked that you swapped the blue for red for the strategists and reassigned it to the scientists. Kinda like a call out to the color divisions of Star Trek.

Heh. That only occurred to me afterwards, actually. I was inspired by the Altered Vistas Dalek Chronicle animations, where the science Daleks were, in at least one case, coloured blue. It seemed natural then to make the strategists red, given that Dalek commanders have in the past been red.

I really like your daleks designs...
I must confess to really like the NDP, especially after seeing them up close but I do love the subtle tweeks you've made to your designs especially the more metalic look.

Thanks for the comment. I do admit the actual NDP has grown on me - and I wasn't entirely in the hate camp from the get go, let's be honest - but I do wish it had been a bit more streamlined...

Yeh, maybe without the extra weapons hatch giving it that hunchback look but I am looking forward to seeing it in action even if it does make the overall dalek look a bit weird.

It isn't cynical, the new designs aren't perfect but then you could argue the previous designs have had their flaws too. Constructive critiques are good.
Part of me hopes they keep the NDPs just to avoid the fans who hate them crowing about it, plus when a show starts giving in to fans who get a bit worked up then that show is on a slippery slope back into "cult" and ultimate failure.
One fan even told me it was a conspiracy to make the daleks unpopular so they could get rid of them from the show. All because Moff said the daleks needed a break, they have afterall been in the show every year since 2005 appart from DTs last year of specials. No one has talked about retiring the daleks.
Still, plenty of fans like the NDPs so they should be around for a while yet, plus they cost a lot to build so the team will want to get their money's worth.

Oh, I just meant that I have the suspicion that they'll shelve the whole 'extra gun' thing to save money. The only Dalek design I would consider flawless is, unfortunately, the one the NDP replaced! But you're right, nothing is perfect and the only way to see what works is to give it a go.
Mr Moffat's idea of giving the Daleks a break is perfectly sound - they work best as a once in a while 'ultimate monster', rather than a repeated menace. I don't think anyone could serious think they'd be gotten rid of, ever. They're too popular, too effective and to fun to play with.
In my opinion, they went with the new design because they genuinely liked it - and chose to redesign it because they wanted to, not because the BBC wanted to make money off the merchandise. And whatever the outcome, it's a fair experiment to try.

Yeah I prefer the old sink plunger for the operators/control room Daleks, but I do like a bit of variety

Well, I didn't intentionally add anything, so unless something very strange is going on, I'm afraid you must be imagining it!
I'm not sure if I'll do many for arm variants...perhaps the extra gunsticks for the Imperial Guards...
