I was hoping to be able to take a proper group shot of these guys but did not get the chance before the Christmas break. Beyond that, not a lot to say about them: the original Toa from Lego's Bionicle, rebuilt using newer parts and more complicated build techniques. Quite pleased with how they came out, so I hope I will be able to get that group shot in the new year.Pohatu, Gali, Kopaka, Tahu, Lewa, Onua.

...I might want to make some of these guys, with maybe a few changes to the likes of Pohatu, just to have on my desk. I'm guessing asking for instructions is out of the question, eh?

Actually, it's not at all out of the question. It's more 'will it happen before the next ice age?'
I have a serious backlog of instructions to document. However, it shouldn't take too long to whip up a Toa . . . as long as Ldraw has all the parts . . . hmm, I'll see what I can do later in the week. No promises simply because of other time constraints but it's definitely possible.

Hey, the fact you're even considering is more than what I was expecting, so if you do plan to make them, then no rush. Patience is a virtue, even if it's not necessarily one of the three main three, so take your time.

I've build Takuanuva but no plans on doing these six in Nuva form. I've never liked the Nuva masks, I'm afraid.

Fair enough, I guess... I find that the Kaukau Nuva works well for a gas/vapour mask; way I look at it, when it comes to Kanohi masks, sometimes taking them out of their in-universe context can work wonders -- it's all about what you *want* them to be.

Funnily enough, I started off building Lego System versions at half-scale. But looking at the masks so long just made me want to rebuild them properly.

dude as a long time Bionicle fan Iv got to say those look amazing. If I had the pieces I would totally make those as well just for the sake of nostalgia and for how well you did them so 10 out 10 of the design. a personal fav of all of them is kopaka for his awesome shield and sleek design and lewa for again the same reason and for how you designed his ax

Cheers! Glad you like them. I've found those pod lids very useful for up-scaled radar dishes, and I'm very happy to find that all the parts I needed for the axe come in green.
