I really loved the Ninth Doctor’s sense of excitement over history unfolding before him. He could be broody and gruff, but he also had this wild energy inside him that came out with those ‘daft’ smiles. He had so many facets. Just another reason to love him and, by extension, the actor who brought that energy to him. Christopher Eccleston is a genius.
