Description A poem imagining the Fall of Hyrule - the drowning of that land, which gave rise to the Wind Waker's Great Sea.
Just when did the people of the land realise what was happening to them? That they were abandoned by the gods?

I think what I like most about your Zelda poems is that your able to take the little details in the story, or those which weren't expanded upon very much, and give them so much meaning and life, and in that way immerse your readers in the story that much more. These are great! Please keep it up

I think that when the flood happened the Goddesses were with the people of Hyrule just like in any other era... they have never been there, in fact. They never had any role history, their position in the world has always been neutral, passive. They created it and its inhabitants and left them to be the authors of their own fortune.
An exception shouldn't even be considered possible, probably, and that may be the reason why they adopted such a drastic solution to the problem. But who knows... the will of Gods is inscrutable.
In my opinion if there is a moment in which the Gods really abandoned Hyrule it has to be when no Hero appeared. That's the real mistery... Why such an inbalance of forces when normally light has a way to fight shadow on equal terms? That's the fact that brings the question if they actually wanted Hyrule to end.

Well, they sort of 'preserved' Hyrule, rather than outright destroying it... Not that all the people who died in the flood would care for the distinction! I would like to see how the gods came to the decision.
I already explored that a bit in an earlier poem: the gods searched for an alternative and found none. They did the only thing they could, and still feel bad about it:

"Know ye now, indeed we cry,

For those below that ever lie,

Those of Sacred land of Old,

In the waters, deep and cold..."
