No, for himself. Taka is the magical girl familiar (I just feel like Simon is into Magical Girl anime, especially Madoka MAgica, and that he identifies very deeply with Homura)

I haven't seen Modoka Magica, so I can't comment. (haven't watched much tv of any kind lately.)
Simon probably watches a lot subtitled anime, though.

I like the idea though that he makes cute little clothes for Taka.
