BAH!I managed to finish it on time!
This one is for #OC-Challenge 's theme Magic, since... well... I didn't manage to finish the entry for Night and Day on time so I thought that I'd try to do a picture for this one instead
Aaaand I got a sudden urge to draw Lucian.
These two are my original characters Lucian and Blizzard. Blizzard being the sword, but since he has a personality, can talk and think and all that he's... a lot more than just a sword.
The other one is Lucian then, and he's an ice demon of mine from an old story that died before it even began. But I still like the characters - and especially Lucian. He's always been a favourite of mine...
So yeah. The title refers to him, and he's not really a Prince actually, but he's as warm and comforting as a block of ice most of the time and the eldest son of the strongest living ice demon there is, so it... kinda fits anyway.
And he's pretty darn kick ass. Especially with Blizzard at his side. They argue like a married couple.
Soooo... yeaaaaah...
Magic ice, magic sword, magic wielding demon... I kinda hope it's obvious why I drew this for the theme
... and it nearly killed me
I did this because I wanted to see at what level I am since I haven't shaded anything serious in Photoshop in... urr... ages, and it kinda grew into something quite complex before I was finished.
I had to suddenly learn how to draw ice just to name one thing... Lucian is lucky that I love him so - because I do - or else I would have strangled him for making me draw all that ice >__<
I really, really like it though. When I look at this it feels as if I'm actually getting somewhere with my art...
Which is a nice feeling
And look! I can suddenly draw pretty hands!
It's all me by the way. All the patterns and details and all... although the one on the front of his vest is actually the pattern on my living room curtains... Still. No one to credit on this one.

The ice is amazing. It looks as if it reflects some kind of northern lights, too (or shows very visibly that it's magic ice). It really looks dangerous. I wouldn't like to get in the way of this duo!
But then I'd probably freeze to death before even meeting them, unless they frequently create this kind of weather whenever they like to.

The ice was a pain
You wouldn't, no, or at least not on one of their bad days... they're pretty harmless on an every day basis though. Lucian is a very calm man with an epic stone face. So he's very difficult to piss off - but it's not impossible

Now I've had this open for many days enough to place a decent comment XD
I like the contrasts, his soft-looking clothes against that sharp looking ice - that manages to looks sharp even if I do see there is a lot of soft shades there too.
Also I like the colours, the fact that you get both red and yellow to work so well among all the blue almost frustrates me
And its really fun to look for all the details!

Well that didn't turn out so decent afterall, but compared to just "nice" or some other spontaneous reaction it is! XD

The ice was tricky but... pretty fun too, since I could use a lot of green and purple in it
The trick with the red and yellow is to put blue in it was well 
And I'm glad to hear that! I love drawing details
He's a pretty cranky character but I can't help loving him for some reason

thanks for the tip, maybe I need to blend even more with one of my pics^^ (blue pops to much against red in my case XD )

Well, by now it's not hard to understand that I love these two like... awfully lot.. and then something like THIS?? They ain't gonna get away from my love anytime soon, that's for sure.
The details are awesome, wickedly well done, and the hands are... yes indeed they are gorgeous ^^ I do NOT envy you for all that ice but you have my uttermost admiration for doing it so well! (Despite wanting to strangle Lucian in the process). And Lucian himself isn't half-bad either

I loooove details. And Lucian does too x'D He wouldn't admit it but he's very fond of them...
And I love the hands ^^ I feel very proud over those.
Blizzard likes it best like this after all, but it's sometimes easy to forget that he isn't... well... a human shaped creature, considering that he gets to do a lot of talking and stuff
