These two butt heads a lot but there are probably still moments of calm between them. Neskre is Clarie's most reliable teacher, sometimes it's best if she simply follows and listens, rather than learn advice the hard way. Neskre says the gardens humans create tell a lot about their lives, their passions their mood, their favorite colors. Some are open and bright, vast fields and well groomed trees, some have high walls and iron fencing to match whats protecting their heart. The garden you came from was not yours, what is remembered clashes terribly with what you are now, there is no way you owned it. Just like they wander these ones now, you trespassed somewhere you shouldn't have been, but where you came from before that is a mystery you'll have to solve yourself.
