How does fishlegs "control" meatlug!? I understand the other riders but fishlegs...how!?

Well in the series "Dragon Riders of Berk" and "Dragon Defenders Of Berk" he kind of used Meatlugs so called/kind of "ears". I at least believe they are his ears. In the HTTYD 2 I`m not quite sure how, I gonna watch the movie again and do a little research on that, I will come back to that question in a few days that means

I have watched it two times now again, on e whit my sister and one myself and I agree. That is a very good question....I shall contact my friend about it. He knows much about it and have contacts in the animation business so he might nows something more than I do
