i was talking with ~photographer-amymay last night and we got talking portraits.i love portraits and don't get to do enough of them. or i should say i don't show enough of the ones i do.
so, inspiration led to strolling through a disk of photo's i made with ~ahemjez .
i want to show you this. i liked the way the shadows fell across her eyes. it's not dark, but to me it makes them more important.
anyway, look how dusty my LP is.

thank you. it's not that it brings them out. light would do that. i think the shadow makes them more important. the shadow gives the impression that they are hiding. which makes them more intriguing

This is a great photo. I love the light: The way it just 'clips' her nose, and the reflected glow giving depth. It's her expression that also makes it - at first I wondered if she didn't want the photo taken! The framing is fantastic too! I tried drawing it here: [link] but it's my 2nd attempt at drawing, so it's not great.

thank you. people are not easy to draw. i made a comment on your pencilling. there are some simple guidelines to faces. rules about distances between each facial feature. once you memorise them it makes them a whole lot easier. i think you have otherwise done really well

thank you. it's gibson's poorer cousin epiphone. but it all honesty - i had a custom gibson les paul that did not sound as good as this one.
